FJ 01 Corost Jamming Frigate

The FJ 01 Corost (lit. “obfuscator”) Jamming Frigate is the Qyax star-Naval Defense Fleet’s primary electronics warfare vessel. Its four distinctive-fin-like structures are the projection antennae for its powerful ECM suite. The Corost is used to both screen its own fleet and to jam enemy vessel’s targeting. It is capable of jamming vessels up to the the size of Xygritt Orilaa Battlecruisers, and at a push, even some of the larger vessels, but at the cost of its defensive ECM field and its own communications. It is one of the few Qyax vessels to mount an integral Footprint Magnification System.
The Corost protects this valuable investment with a shield grid rated to 785TXq, coupled with a pair of VN001730 engines. Geared for evasiveness over speed, these grant the Corost maneouvreability reated to 205 MEUs. The acceleration is compartively low for Qyax standards at 13.62mc. This is enough to keep pace with smaller crafter, and more than sufficient to escort the larger capital ships is most often found escorting.
Some reports have suggested that the Qyax have other, larger vessels that also perform the electronics warfare role, but so far, none have been spotted. It is possible, too, the reports refer to older 6th generation or earlier vessels which may be retired or on second-line deployments.
